I took a bar of soap to lubricate the runners and they move much better but still not smoothly. I still need something better. I'll have to go to the hardware store to get something to lubricate wood. Other than that I love this Maddison Extendable Dining Set With 4 Chairs, Conservatory Dining Sets. I took the knobs off and spray painted them to match the trim in the other parts of the room.
